Better go 05:26
Gonna say it all again Life it just a simple plan Better go, better go, better go Gonna say that it’s the end Mother dear I’ll be gone again To my friends, I hope it ends this way All who see the wasteland Can only start again And I’ll be fine Just say I am like you want me to be Surely I could break the spell Surely I would rattle & shake it up All you know it fell in pieces All who see the wasteland Can only start again And I’ll be fine Just say I am like you want me to be All who see the wasteland Can only start again Don’t think that this will be the end Leave it like you found it Come back home again I’ll be fine Just say I am like you want me to be
2.
Hope I never let you go away We’ll last forever for many years Once felt so hungry But now I’m too much at ease I can see it coming Coming over here It’s gonna catch me when it’s near Don’t wait another year The dreams that I keep looking for keep me wide awake Sometimes I feel so tired I wish that I could sleep In dreams it all comes back to me All that I wish to see I can see it coming Coming over here It’s gonna catch me when it’s near Don’t wait another year
3.
All the same 04:01
When you say that your mind’s still young You might just tell a lie I don’t know what’s right or wrong When there are no mistakes Take my breath Take my poor heart too And all that’s left for you But what about me What about me I still love you all the same What’s bugging me I can’t tell no-one It’s not a secret to unveil Tell me yours and I’ll bring you some It’s not that I don’t know what’s left to come Take my breath Take my poor heart too And all that’s left for you But what about me What about me I still love you all the same
4.
Bad luck and the road is rough Gonna make it if I try Get up, hope that I will find My way back home on time You’ll never leave me No matter how hard I try You’re mad and I know you’re right That’s what I’ve been saying all this time I never listen and I never come When you ask me to be closer You’ll never leave me For another guy Come back to bed now I’ll feel sorry in the morning To break up, end up feeling strange Even remember your name Some folks always keep it clean But I’m feeling dirty and I’ll always be You’ll never leave me No matter how hard I try You’ll never leave me For another guy Come back to bed now, come back to sleep I’ll feel sorry in the morning Just like I’ll always be
5.
Tired ghosts 03:17
I’m going down the road No-one really knows just where to go I meet them in the park Faces don’t get pretty once it’s dark I saw them in the news today They didn’t look that sad suddenly I’m going late at night Some they shout, some end up in a fight I meet them in the fare They only seem to get up to go anywhere I know I should be part of them The heat, the booze, the laughs, I’m doing all I can Maybe once they’re gone it doesn’t seem that wrong They’ll be sleeping like a rose, all these tired ghosts I’m going down the road No-one really knows just where to go I meet them in the park Faces don’t get pretty once it’s dark
6.
Fool me now 04:51
Don’t fail me now When I’m waking up beside you Don’t fail me now When I’m feeling blue Don’t fail me now When I’m done with all the dreaming It’s only gonna fool me now Only gonna fool me now Don’t cut too deep There’s another way to say it Don’t cut too deep Just go to sleep Don’t face me now When I’m trying to be tender It’s only gonna fool me now Only gonna fool me now Dreams go by, they’re never gonna fool me now
7.
My brother will know him and see him come Hope I’ll see him later on He’ll tell you ‘bout forgiving, sure will get you through Hard times and keep an eye over you Tell me a secret ‘bout Jesus right now I’ll tell you a secret ‘bout him now He’ll always keep on waiting for you to come along Mother watch over your son Trying to be happy but through this world I roam No more hesitating when I’m gone A cool, cool wind, a cool wind’s gonna blow I my sails, I’m coming home Tell me a secret ‘bout Jesus right now I’ll tell you a secret ‘bout him now He’ll always keep on waiting for you to come along Mother watch over your son Tell me, tell me, tell me a secret ‘bout Jesus right now I’ll tell you, tell you, tell you a secret ‘bout him now Tell me a secret ‘bout Jesus right now I’ll tell you a secret ‘bout him now He’ll always keep on waiting for you to come along Mother watch over your son
8.
Yes I’m the man who’ll try tomorrow Tried to do my best today To end up feeling full of sorrow I think I’ll lose my job anyway No my boss sure don’t look that happy For he’s working harder than I’ll ever do Wonder why I don’t feel like trying Tell me now what I’m afraid to lose Please don’t try to let it go I’m not ready to be free Just let it go, let it go Let it go tonight I read their faces and I hear the riddles Wondering what they might think of me A thousand things left to be handled Well I keep myself to all the small things that I need Sure I know I should’ve said so But I’m not willing to be here In between a yes and no There ain’t a place to go to Please don’t try to let it go, I’m not ready to be free Sure I know I should’ve said so, but I’m not willing to be here Don’t know what I’d lose, but I’m not going in too deep Once they’re inside and you’re outside it seems so hard to hide
9.
Thought I had it all today But now they put it all away Far away from me Lost my friends along the way Thought we’d stay the same Think I lost it in the rain I said I’d cross the ocean And never could be found I’m sleeping on your doorstep I’m stuck to the ground Would you rather be, would you rather be A hero in the paper Would you kindly please, would you please Move out of my way I said I’d cross the ocean And never could be found I’m sleeping on your doorstep I’m stuck to the ground I followed all the signs, did all to live my dreams I wanted it so bad and never fell asleep I said I’d cross the ocean and never could be found I’m sleeping on your doorstep, I’m stuck to the ground I said I’d cross the ocean and never could be found I’m sleeping on your doorstep, I’m stuck to the ground
10.
Feel free 02:28
Trying to be brave but it’s easy doing nothing You’d better wait Don’t hear a word you say still I’m trying to be certain Follow me Few know what is wrong with me But I feel free See a shooting start but I know I’m far too yellow It bothers me Get home every night with a brand new story You know I cheat Fly on to another day But you know I’m late Few know what is wrong with me Waiting when it’s time to sleep I’m awake every morning every day Still don’t know what else to say But I feel free
11.
10.000 Dollars on my mind Still don’t know what I hope to find Well it gets worse the more you do Whish there’d be someone to spell out the truth Can’t you see the window shopping mob I hope to lose I pass an old man in the street After one long day at the office, I’m finally free Don’t give one dime I won’t even point him into the right direction Crippled and blind, what he was hoping to find and to see in my eyes Can’t you see the window shopping mob I hope to lose Don’t go out shopping when you’re hoping to find Some peace of mind will do When days grow long and the politicians sing 10.000 Dollars no they can’t set me free Can’t you see the window shopping mob I hope to lose
12.
Catching waves They take me up & down The make me swim & drown I keep my eyes on the shoreline ‘Cause I might find What I’ve been looking for Then I wonder why And how I never stopped believing Wake me up now please For I’ve been sleeping too long & too deep I’ve been trying to get up now I’ve been trying in my dreams When I make my way across the ocean I don’t seem to get somewhere near Then I wonder why And how I never stopped believing Wake me up now please For I’ve been sleeping too long & too deep

about

Wait another year

Maison du Malheur, René van Barneveld), Marlon Penninkhof (gitaar, o.a. Amber Arcades), Vincent Beijer (toetsen, o.a. Phinx, EON) en Judith Renkema (bas, o.a. Jaimi Faulkner). Gastbijdragen zijn van Coen Hamelink (trompet, flugelhorn), Roy Hendriks (trombone), Alex Akela (viool) en Mike Roelofs (Hammond). Sebastiaan van Bijlevelt (o.a.

Marten de Paepe speelde in o.a.
